Founded in 2019, the Serious & White-Collar Crime Unit (SWCU) is the latest addition to Connaught’s spectrum of legal practice. Established in response to shifts in global markets and the international regulatory environment, together with the rise of new modes and configurations of criminality, we provide specialist legal and investigative services to clients faced with a variety of Generation X claims – from advisory right through to contentious. Who are we?

The SWCU is unique – both in terms of its composition and its approach. We recognise that Serious and Financial Crime claims cannot be dealt with by litigators alone. What is needed is a specialist approach – an approach that applies institutional expertise and experience to resolve the complexities of serious and pecuniary claims. As such, Connaught’s has assembled a one-of-a-kind team – for the first time in the history of the City, we have brought together former senior law enforcement chiefs, academics with world specialism in Economic Crime, financial investigators with experience in governmental and private agencies, and foreign-jurisdiction qualified lawyers.
